7 Churches of Revelations Tour Program

Day 1: Izmir (Smyrna) – Pergamon Ancient City

Begin your exploration of the Seven Churches of Revelation in Izmir, historically known as Smyrna. Visit the Church of Saint Polycarp, dedicated to the martyred disciple Polycarp. Discover the ancient city of Smyrna, including its Agora. Then, travel to Bergama to explore the remnants of ancient Pergamon, noted for its reference as “the satan’s throne” in the scriptures. Stay overnight in Izmir.

Day 2: Thyatira – Sardis – Philadelphia

Post-breakfast, head to Thyatira to see the ruins of its ancient church, a city historically influenced by “Jezebel.” Next, visit Sardis, the wealthy Lydian Empire capital known for minting the first coins. Journey towards Pamukkale, stopping at the ancient church ruins in Philadelphia, recognized for its commendation by St. John. Overnight in Pamukkale.

Day 3: Hierapolis Ancient City – Pamukkale – Laodicea Ancient City

Explore Hierapolis in the morning, where Philip the Evangelist resided. Visit Philip’s tomb and the octagon church. Enjoy the stunning Pamukkale calcium terraces, and then visit Laodicea Ancient City, famously referred to as “lukewarm” by St. John. Overnight stay in Kusadasi.

Day 4: Ephesus – The House of Virgin Mary – Basilica of John – Temple of Artemis

Travel to Ephesus, a well-preserved ancient city, significant in St. John’s teachings. Walk its marble streets, see the Library of Celsus, the Temple of Hadrian, and the grand Theatre. Visit the House of Virgin Mary, her final dwelling place, and the Basilica of John, his supposed burial site. End the tour with a visit to the Temple of Artemis. Transfer back to Izmir Airport.
